Tears of the Kingdom's story is not at conflict with Ocarina of Time's story, nor does it retcon/contradict the rest of the series.
The Legend of Zelda timeline is a saga of many interconnected storylines across thousands and thousands of years, the series would have a three way split at the end of Ocarina of Time creating three distinct timelines; the Child Timeline, Adult Timeline, and Downfall Timeline: The most up to date Zelda Timeline from 2017. There have been many conversations over the years for which timeline Breath of the Wild (and therefore Tears of the Kingdom as its direct sequel) takes place on. BOTW/TOTK have many references to all three timelines, due to this there's many theories how that could be; some believe it could be due to Hyrule Warriors or an event similar to it where any one of the timelines could have temporarily been connected to another, some believe the timelines somehow merge, and others believe in different theories. I'm not here to give my thoughts on that topic, but to merely prove how the Zelda timeline is not ignored or retconned by TOTK, as well as show how TOTK makes
